Fatty Liver & MASLD Clinic — Mumbai

The Fatty Liver & MASLD Clinic at Dr. Chetan Kalal’s practice provides dedicated, structured care for patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, formerly known as NAFLD/NASH), including patients who are lean, non-diabetic, or otherwise atypical presentations.

Who this clinic is for

Patients referred with incidental fatty liver on ultrasound, deranged liver enzymes, suspected steatohepatitis (MASH/NASH), or fibrosis risk on non-invasive scoring, as well as patients already diagnosed and seeking ongoing monitoring or a second opinion.

Diagnostic workup offered

Clinical and metabolic risk assessment, liver function and metabolic panel, non-invasive fibrosis scoring (e.g. FIB-4, NAFLD fibrosis score), transient elastography (FibroScan) where indicated, and MR elastography referral for selected cases.

Treatment approach

Individualised management combining lifestyle and dietary counselling, metabolic risk-factor control, and, where clinically indicated, pharmacological options including GLP-1/GIP-based therapies for eligible patients with obesity or type 2 diabetes. Care is coordinated with dietetics and endocrinology as needed.

OPD: Tuesday, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
